Veterinary Tech School: The University of Georgia
Laura completed her A.S. degree with the University of Georgia in Veterinary Technology. She has been devoted to the veterinary field for over 30 years. Laura's special interests include preventive and critical care, exotic pet health care, public health awareness of zoonotic diseases, laboratory, dentistry, anesthesia and pain management. In Laura's spare time she enjoys fostering kittens and making jewelry. Why I joined the Veterinary field: I have been in the veterinary field for over thirty years. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1989. I have loved animals since the day I was born. I love to teach and also learn new medicine that VCA offers on a daily basis. I am a firm believer that you have to have a great sense of humor and a lot of love, compassion and patience to be in the veterinary field. There isn't a day that I ever regret joining the Veterinary profession.
Pam has been a dedicated Veterinary Technician to our family for over ten years. Pam attended the University of North Carolina and received her BA degree. She enjoys Preventive Care, Exotic Medicine and customer service. In her spare time she enjoys spinning, yoga, fishing and paddle boarding. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and Vizsla named Cedar. Why I joined the Veterinary Field: "I enjoy my job and the people I meet immensely. Being able to care for animals with the Veterinarians and staff here is incredibly rewarding".
Why I joined the Veterinary field: "I enjoy working with all species including reptiles, birds, dogs, and cats. Working with wildlife holds a special place in my heart. I enjoy ensuring that all species receive the care and compassion that they deserve, it is very rewarding". I have been in the domestic animal field for greater than five years. I am currently completely my bachelors degree in environmental studies and minoring in biology to continue my passion specializing in wildlife rehabilitation. When I am not working, I concentrate on Crested Gecko breeding and preservation, caring for my other pets including cats, birds, and snakes. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing.
Nicki has been dedicated to the veterinary field for over ten years. Her experience includes working at a general practice as well as a specialty referral center including surgery and critical care medicine. Her special interests include surgery, critical care and pain management, emergency medicine, preventive care and public health awareness. Nicki enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a Veterinary Technician in addition to their large family of rescued pets. Why I joined the Veterinary field: From a young child I have always dreamed of working with animals! I have been a Veterinary Technician for greater than 10 years working in emergency/ critical care, surgery as well as general practice. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our large animal family as well as wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
Veterinary Tech School: Vet Tech Institute
Hannah is a devoted member of our hospital with advanced training in wellness medicine, surgery and dentistry. Hannah has a Specialized Technology degree from the Veterinary Technology Institute. Hannah has a big heart as we all do in the field of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys assisting where she is able with pets in need and animal rescue. In her spare time Hannah also enjoys home renovation and spending time with her two blind feline friends, Kenshi and Kira and her Border Collie cross, Ace. Why I joined the Veterinary field: " I always knew as a child I wanted to work with animals but had no clue what I wanted to do. So, I did my research and found out that being a Veterinary Technician was eventually going to be my career. I went to school, got my dream job, and now living the life with my pup and two blind kitties".
Bethany has always enjoyed her family pets and helping animals. She decided to be a Veterinary Technician because of her love for animals and medicine and graduated from the Veterinary Technician Institute. In her spare time, Bethany enjoys spending time with her Domestic Short Hair Penelope, her smooth coat Chihuahua Laci and her Staffordshire Bull Terrier Silas. Why I joined the Veterinary Field: "I originally wanted to be a nurse, but my love for animals drew me into this profession. I love coming into a job that I thoroughly enjoy, and sometimes, doesn't feel like a job."
