Dr. Kirk Forrest, DVM, Medical Director

Biography

Dr. Forrest is native of Ohio and received both his undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University. He moved to St. Mary’s County in 1987 providing compassionate and friendly care for our community, establishing St. Mary’s Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Forrest continues to practice preventive wellness medicine and surgery for our community, in addition to serving as our Hospital Medical Director insuring that our hospital provides state of the art medical care for all patients.

Dr. Forrest has a special interest in exotic patient care including birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits and other small mammals. He especially enjoys surgery and has obtained extensive professional training in small animal orthopedic, laser and laparoscopic surgery.

During Dr. Forrest’s spare time, he enjoys skiing, fishing, boating, and wine collecting. He also enjoys baseball and has provided ten years of service coaching our community Little League teams. Dr. Forrest also enjoys spending time with his family and pets; Ginger and Bentley (Springer Spaniels) and two sassy cats Meeko and Chloe.
