  • Genuinely cared about my pet

    -Judi from Houston, TX
    Pet Name: Trixie

Pet Image I have a large dog that is quite aggressive. Even with her aggressiveness, everyone at the clinic was FANTASTIC! They talked very nice to her, trying to make her comfortable. The doctor knew she couldn't get real close and didn't stress my dog by trying. She threw my dog treats, which over time, will teach my pet that she can trust this doctor. I was very pleased at the kindness they showed my pet!

  • Wonderful Vet

    -Sarah from Houston, TX
    Pet Name: Eliot

Just took my kitten in for the free wellness exam that the SPCA offers. Best vet I've ever been to, hands down. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and obviously loves animals. It was evident that the employees of VCA Spring Branch love what they do, and are good at it.

    Thank you so much!

  • We love VCA

The team at VCA Spring Branch are always so friendly and attentive. Dr. Schweiss shows so much love for our dogs and they love her as well. It is a true joy to have such great care for our pets.

  • Insulin free and loving it

-Pat and Kenny Trull from Katy, TX
    Pet Name: Callie

Pet Image This is the best animal clinic ever! The night before we started coming to this clinic, my blue healer was in an emergency clinic because of a diabetic seizure. Dr. Schweiss and her staff took us in like family as they began working to save Callie’s life. In a matter of a few months, we went from 12cc of insulin twice daily to ZERO units! That’s right, Callie is no longer a diabetic and we owe it all to Dr. Schweiss and the awesome staff at VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital. Thanks Dr. Schweiss! You guys are the best!

  • Callie our ex-diabetic

    -The Trull from Katy, TX
    Pet Name: Callie

Pet Image In April of this year (2010), Callie (a blue healer) had been diagnosed with diabetes. We were taking her to a vet that insisted we keep her on a corn based prescription food, even though Callie’s health continued to decline. At the time we were giving Callie 12 units of insulin in the AM/PM and she seemed to be going downhill. Most nights were spent with Callie dashing to the back door throughout the night. One night she was particularly restless when at 3 o’clock in the morning, and for no apparent reason, she forced out a pathetic squeak of a bark at nothing but the darkness.

The next morning my husband and I began preparing a homemade diet of fresh vegetables and boiled meat for Callie. Within 24 hours, Callie began to positively respond to a diet without corn and within 48 hours she began feeling and acting more like the old Callie. We were however still on insulin and the dosage was still too high. We made the decision to change vets and eventually found Dr. Schweiss. We couldn’t have found a better doctor for our pet!

Dr. Schweiss, watched over Callie like she was her own pup. After a couple of weeks, Dr. Schweiss began to encourage us to start glucose testing at home. This was the exact opposite of Callie’s original vet who insisted on testing Callie in her office on a two week then once a month basis. And, because we were feeding Callie a nonconventional diet, Dr. Schweiss conferred with an animal nutritionist to make sure we weren’t missing important nutrients. With a little adjustment to the food mix and a lot of adjustment to the insulin, Callie once again became the playful, alert and active healer we were used to having.

After a few months of homemade food, reduced doses of insulin and a wonderful veterinary clinic, Dr. Schweiss suggested we try weaning Callie off insulin. We began the process and within 2 weeks, Callie was insulin free!!

To say thank you to Dr. Schweiss just seems inadequate at best. Without her intervention in Callie’s treatment, we would have certainly added to our pet cemetery. Thank you Doctor Schweiss for caring so much about Callie and, thanks to your wonderful staff for the heart they showed each time we called or walked in the clinic. You have a great team of people and a wonderful and caring clinic.

  • Great Customer Service

    -Don Siems from Houston, TX
    Pet Name: Kemobi

Olga in the office personifies what great customer service is all about. She helped me secure an order for flea treatment by making calls and faxing needed information. With a vet team like Olga and Dr. Robin McConaughey your pets will get the best care available in Houston.

    Thanks Again to Both!

  • Thank you, Dr. Schweiss

    -Patti Trimm from Houston, TX
    Pet Name: Snoop

Pet Image We recently visited the hospital with my son's dog, Snoop, who was in critical need with Parvo. Dr. Schweiss was very attentive to his needs, while also comforting us and patiently answering our many questions. Her professionalism gave us confidence that he was receiving the best possible care. Each member of the staff we encountered showed genuine concern, and were very helpful as we visited Snoop during his recuperation. It was a very frightening experience, but Snoop is doing extremely well. What a wonderful Christmas present! Thank you all again SO MUCH!!! Merry Christmas!

  • They Saved Our Cat

    -Melissa from Houston, TX
    Pet Name: Cyrus

Our cat was just over a year old and very sick. We brought him to the vet and needless to say, the vet was shocked to see he was still a live since his RBC was so low. He was diagnosed with IMHA. The vet performed a blood transfusion, was in the hospital for three days and four months later, he is responding well to medication and is our happy, healthy cat again! If it wasn't for the helpful, friendly staff at VCA Spring Branch hospital in Houston, Texas, our cat may have not been with us today. We cannot thank VCA hospital staff enough for saving our cat!!
