Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Melanie Cimetta earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biology from St. John's University, New York. She attended the Veterinary School of Medicine at Iowa State University and returned to New York  after graduating in 1996. Dr. Cimetta has been part of the VCA family since 2003, joining Southgate Animal Hospital in 2021. Dr. Cimetta believes that wellness and preventative care is invaluable to the health and well being of our furry companions and enjoys working hand in hand with our pet parents to give their furry family members the best life possible.

Dr. Cimetta lives with her three children, two cats and a leopard gecko. She loves to travel to the Caribbean, bringing a breath of island air with her where ever she goes. She looks forward to getting to know you and your pet.
