  • Kennel Assistant

    Karen Erwin

Karen graduated from the Veterinary Assisting Program at Pickens Technical College in May 2009 and joined our team shortly after.
Karens training and compassion for animals shows everyday while she is providing quality care to all of our wonderful boarding pets.
Never short on hugs, Karen dotes on all of the animals in our care.

Aside from caring for all of our animals Karen spends time with her own dogs Desi, Java & Thompson.
She also enjoys needlepoint, knitting, reading and walking the gang.

  • Kennel Assistant

    Delanda Franklin
School: Pima Medical Institute, Veterinary Assisting

Delanda is a Colorado native.  Her love of animals was apparent at a young age as she had multiple pets growing up.  This translated to schooling at Pima Medical Institute when in 2002, she received a degree in Veterinary Assisting.  Since graduating, she has worked at several veterinary shelters and hospitals and joined our kennel staff in May of 2012.  She has professional interests in behavioral training and animal husbandry as well as emergency and surgical assisting.

She and her husband share a home with 4 beautiful children and an awesome Boston Terrier named Funny Face.  She enjoys being outdoors, swimming, going to concerts and church, spending time with her family, reading and learning.

She truely enjoys her work because it allows her to spend time with the animals.  She plans to continue her education in the Veterinary field in Behavioral Training.

  • Groomer

    Alicia Ballard

Alicia has been professionally working with animals since 1985, and grooming them since 1995. She loves animals , and began working in a veterinary clinic when she was in high school.

She went to MTI Western Business College in Sacrimento, CA., and then moved to Hawaii in 1989 to pursue work as a dental techniain. In 1995, she ended up back in Aurora, Colorado, which she loved and decided to stay. She began working in a large pet grooming facility, which allowed her to gain incredible skill in grooming both cats and dogs.

We are thankful that she came to join our hospital in 2009! We welcome you to bring your pets to Alicia to have them look their absolute best.
