VCA Southeast Area Animal Hospital is pleased to announce the re-introduction of endoscopy to our practice. Endoscopy is a non-invasive way for veterinarians to obtain biopsy samples of the stomach, small intestines, and colon. It is also a gentle way to remove foreign objects from the stomach and esophagus. All endoscopic procedures are performed under general anesthesia.

We are commited to practicing advanced medicine, and promoting options that allow for a faster recovery time for your pets. Rather than the traditional method of laparotomy (incision through the abdominal wall) to obtain stomach and intestine biopsies, we will recommend endoscopy as necessary.

Endoscopy is a powerful, gentle tool that allows us to futher evaluate chronic cases of vomiting, foreign body injection, and certain types of cancer. Don't hestitate to ask us more about our out-patient endoscopy capabilities!
