The Best of the Best
-Lisa from Staten Island, NY
Pet Name: Desi
Since Dr. Pararello took over this hospital, it couldn't be better. Nothing compares to the peace of mind knowing that this hospital is open 24 hours a day-7days a week.. no more running the over priced NJ hospitals. Dr. Panarello is more than fair & has a genuine love for animals. It's not all about the money with him! Him & Dr. Clemente took amazing care of my cat over the last 3 weeks. I wouldn't go anywhere else. -
Thumbs up
-Mona Popkin from Staten Island, NY
Pet Name: SpikeThe most caring staff and the most caring doctors. My pet Spike has a blood disorder called AIT, he is only four years old and it already has returned for a second time. Needless to say I was a mess the first time around but because of their knowledge and patience and willing to give the family the information they need to learn I feel I am more prepared this time around and a lot calmer. I will be forever grateful to Mary Grace for always being there for me early in the a.m. and always knowing what to say. I will always be grateful for Doctor Clemente's expertise and never giving up on Spike. There should be more animal care service like South Shore. Sincerely, Mona Popkin.

Doctor Panarello
-Harriet and Les Shaffer from Barnegat, NJWhen we saw Dr. Panarello's name in theNYPost in an article about him saving a pit bull who got shot protecting his owner, we knew it was the same doctor who saved our cat Dayzee's life over 15 years ago. We will never forget him. Not only did he diagnose and treat a lupus-like arthritic condition she developed, but he found a cancerous tumor in her neck which would have killed her had it not been removed. She was 8 years old when diagnosed and we enjoyed loving her until she passed away in 2007 at the age of 19. If we were not living almost 70 miles away, we'd bring our rescue cat Tinkerbelle to him for her care. He is our hero.

Honest
-Cami Camello from staten island, NY
Pet Name: NoodlesI have been using South Shore for 14 years, as long as I have been living on S.I. I only request Dr. Hines to treat my Poodle. Noodles is now 15 years old. All of the doctors and staff are warm and caring, however, what I like about Dr. Hines is his honesty. He does not push unnecessary vaccines or examinations just to make a buck. Hard to find that these days even in "human" doctors. Thanks!

Place of Compassion
-Helen T from Staten Island, NY
Pet Name: KittyI became an owner of a Kitten that I took care of for two weeks that was very ill. I went to Banfield for help on how to take care of the Kitten and they treated me and the Kitten like a business. They did not want to give her a chance or any treatment options. When the Kitten was so sick that she had to be put down, I did not have the heart to bring her to Banfield so I brought her here. The doctor treated me and the Kitten with such kindness and compassion, it made the whole ordeal easier. I have three other pets and from now on, I will only go here for all their treatment.

Amazing Care
-diane v from staten island, NY
Pet Name: BoomerUnfortunately, my dog Boomer had to be rushed in for emergency treatment & unfortunately we did lose him :(...However, Dr. Panarello, MaryGrace & the entire staff provided my dog with amazing care in his final days. He was made as comfortable as possible, & even had a little personal fan set up to keep him cool following his seizures. The biggest thing for me was the ability to visit with him -- even at 1AM ! My heartfelt thanks to South Shore Vet

I highly recommend this veterinary hospital
-Kim from Staten Island, NY
Pet Name: EltonMy husband and I first brought our cat Elton to this hospital in November 2011. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (an incurable mouth cancer). After three months of ups and downs our cat just passed away. My husband and I are so grateful to all of the staff for their support, advice and kind words when we needed them. My only regret is not bringing my cats to them sooner. The veterinarians on staff truly know their field and most importantly love the animals they care for.
