  When you leave your pet in the hands of others you want only the best treatment. Maxwell has had that treatment over the past five years at Smoketown Animal Hospital. The entire staff has provided expert medical attention with a very personal touch. Max has not only received medical care but he vacations at the hospital and we know he is not neglected at all...as a matter of fact he is spoiled by his caregivers.   I want to extend my thanks to the entire staff of VCA Smoketown starting with the girls out front to the doctor's and their assistants for the kind & considerate care of my wonderful little companion "Boots". I want to thank Dr Jaeger for the successful surgery of a dreaded disease (Cancer), that enabled me to have a couple more months with "Boots".
  I also want to thank Dr Battah for his role in attempting to find a solution to make life more comfortable for "Boots".
  Then there was Dr Shellenberger, that offered his services by phone and in person if needed and for his concern for my companion "Boots" I thank him.
  On the final day Dr Herr took time from her busy schedule to confirm the horrible decision I had to make which gave my most wonderful companion eternal peace.
  The memories of "Boots" will always be with me and my love for her will never fade. For everyone at VCA Smoketown I say once again, Thank you, Thank you.

  Thank you Smoketown Animal Hospital! Your Staff is the most Professional and Caring Staff that I have ever experienced. You can feel the love that your Staff has for the animals. There is always someone to talk to when you call and have a concern, and the Office wait is never long. You are there and prepared for emergencies...but calm and encouraging. To anyone that needs Vet Care..Smoketown is the best. They have literally helped me save a puppy as well as helped big time with the care of our pets (even when I was so stressed I should have drove the Staff crazy). Love this place!

  Alex is our beautiful 6 year old golden retriever. Seven months ago he started sneezing. Five months ago his nose started to bleed occasionally with sneezing and constant runny nose. Our local vet took x-rays, gave antibiotics and a calming pill. The x-rays were read and we were told it probably was sinus cancer or less likely a fungal infection. What a disheartening shock! Some internet searches strongly suggested a fungal infection which lead us to Dr. Hall. After more X-rays, we told it was probably cancer or maybe a small chance fungal. Dr. Hall agreed to do a rhinoscopy and fungal treatment as long as he found no cancer. The call and biopsies came back and indeed it was a fungal infection!! Alex had the treatment three and a half weeks ago and no longer has a sore muzzle. He no longer looks like Niagra Falls running from his nose with pink discoloration! He is back to eating regular food and chasing his fetchy toy relentlessly! Thank you so much Dr. Hall for trusting our instincts and caring for Alex! Job well done!   When I had to put my dog to sleep due to health problems 1 year in August, your entire staff was professional and caring and gave me a paw print right before we sent him to heaven that paw print will always be with me. I can not say enough about your doctors there I have seen most of them I had 3 dogs now I have 2. Even though I have more than 1 dog this one was even more special to me 13 years and more love than I can tell you grew up with my grandchildren and helped me through losing my mother. I LOVE SMOKETOWN and will always be grateful for the care the give to all my pets they ones in heaven are 5 and the ones still here. THANK YOU

  Dr. Battah, ever since I was little, I come to visit you. It makes me so happy that I wiggle a lot! When I am not feeling good, you make me healthy and happy again. Thank you for taking such good care of me and for the treats!
  
  Dr. Battah is wonderful at what he does. Every time we visit, we get proper treatment, genuine care and everything is explained to us so we are well informed. But being in Dr. Battah's care is so much more than that. He personally calls to check up on our little man. He always makes himself available to talk, whenever we have any concerns. He reassures us when there isn't anything to worry about and is attentive and responds urgently when things are not going well. Because of him, we continue to have the little wiggly guy we love so much. Genuine in his work, his love for his patients and his compassion for his clients, we always highly recommend Dr. Battah to pet owners and always will. Thank you so much!

  Dr. Herr is by far the very best

  I first saw Dr. Herr several years ago with my injured cat. This was my first time in this office, and I have never been anywhere since! She was so patient and soft spoken with my terrified kitty, and did everything she could to get her fixed up ASAP. Since then, I have seen several other doctors, and have settled on Dr. Herr as our vet of choice anytime we come in now. She is by far the best vet I have ever met and had the pleasure of seeing on a regular basis. I wouldn't trust the care of my pets in anyone elses hands after our extraordinary experience with her. Thank you, Dr. Herr, for all that you do, and for your special way with pets!

  Letter of Appreciation

  Too many times in life we hear about the bad things and the failed service deliveries of companies. Today, I am writing to you for the exact opposite reason. If you were to look at your hospital records you would find that my husband and I are frequent customers at your location in Smoketown PA since 1995. We have used your services in good times and in bad and have worked with many of your doctors. We are no strangers to the leading veterinary facilities’ in PA and are committed to making sure our dogs receive the best medical attention available.
  
  In January, we had the misfortune of loosing our 14 year old Pit Bull. On Friday night, January 14th upon arriving home from work we found our dog Jeb in very bad condition. Dr. Battah agreed to see us immediately despite the fact that it was a Friday night at 5:30 and past his scheduled work day. This was not our first time dealing with Doctor Battah who is our frequent doctor of choice at Smoketown. He had successfully treated Jeb for Cushings disease for many years and we had grown to like Dr. Battah very much for the time he took to clearly explain things and for the care he had for us, and more importantly our dogs. He was always thorough and truly understood our love for our dogs. This night was no exception. Dr. Battah told us that things were not looking good for Jeb and that we had likely come to the end of the road. Jeb was bleeding internally and although Dr. Battah took x-rays we were unable to determine the source of the bleeding. We made the immediate decision to rush Jeb to VRC in Malverne for an MRI where he ultimately died. As we were rushing out the door desperate to save our dog, Dr. Battah demonstrated care and compassion for Jeb and for us. I truly believe he shared our pain because he genuinely cared for us, his customer and for Jeb, his patient.
  
  To make matters worse, this past month we were faced with the unfortunate news that our beloved 10 year old Pit Bull Chloe had a tumor in her brain. Doctor Battah was again the treating Doctor and once again he provided an amazing level of service. Up until the time of her final diagnosis he was responsive and attentive…even giving me his personal cell phone number to contact if I had any questions. When we finally learned of our dear girls condition, Dr. Battah agreed to perform Chloe’s euthanasia on his day off of work with the most giving and selfless spirit I have ever experienced. This act will be forever remembered and appreciated by my husband and I.
  
  Dr. Battah is a true gem. A professional Veterinarian who has the technical skills and the care and compassion that all doctors should demonstrate but few truly poses. We feel very blessed to have Dr. Battah as a veterinarian in our local community and hope you realize the asset he is to your business.
