  • Stellar Service, Knowledge and Compassion

    -Leslie from Springfield, MA

After moving to New England nearly four years ago, my husband and I were concerned about finding a new veterinarian office in the area to provide expert care for our two dogs. We were fortunate to find VCA Shaker Road Animal Hospital and their team of qualified, knowledgeable and compassionate professionals. The entire team - from the minute you call or walk in - treats you and your pets respectfully, as if your pets were their own furry family members. The Office Manager, Lynn Sassi, goes above and beyond to provide the best client service I've ever received from a veterinarian's office, even providing referrals to reputable area breeders when we lost one of our elderly dogs last year. Dr. Katherine Dzulinsky is a true expert, staying up to date on leading edge treatments and technology, while providing medical care and recommendations that are realistic and sensitive to cost. Thank you to everyone at VCA Shaker Road for taking such good care of our pets and for being good to their owners as well!

    Leslie, Springfield, MA

  • Great Service

-Suzanne Gile from East Longmeadow, MA
    Pet Name: Zoey

I have two examples of great service. First is from Lynn who worked with me and my pet insurance company to get me the best reimbursement for a tricky claim. She was a great advocate for us. The second example was from Dr. Eve who due to my dogs easy going temperament, agreed to remove a very large skin tag with just local anesthesia with me in the room. It was great to not have to put our dog under for something simple but necessary.

  • Simply THE best

-Wayne and Sharon from Longmeadow, MA
    Pet Name: Quincy

Pet Image We met "Dr. Kathy", Lynn and the rest of the fantastic staff at VCA Shaker Road when we were looking for a second opinion (and a little more hope) for our aging Doberman, Quincy. Our other Vet at the time was good, but we believed there was a lot more quality of life we could get for our aging dog. Long story short, Dr Kathy agreed with us and worked wonders with our old guy. We honestly believe that we got an extra 6 months of quality of life time with our Quincy simply from her compassion, positive outlook and her extensive professional knowledge.

In the end, we lost our guy simply to old age. It was a very difficult time for us. The way the entire staff responded to our last visit was nothing like we’ve ever seen. They made one of the most difficult days of our lives so much easier. We will never forget that day – not only because we lost our best friend, but because of the exceptional and professional way it was handled.

Words can’t express how highly we think of VCA Shaker Road. We’ve had some good Vets for our different dogs - from Chicago, to NJ, to NYC and even a few specialists at Tuft’s University. They were good, some even very good. VCA Shaker Road is better than all of them. VCA Shaker Road is GREAT. By far, THE best we’ve ever had.

  • Nina and Mylee

    -Elizabeth Shapiro from Springfield, MA

I recently moved from out of state to the Western Massachusetts area, and have two very small dogs. One with epilepsy, and the other with a heart murmur. My two dogs are my children, and like any mother, I wanted to find the best possible care for my animals. My father referred me to VCA Shaker Road Animal Hospital, and I am so thankful he did. The staff treat myself and my animals with love, and compassion. Both Dr. Kathy and Dr. Eva have seen my animals for routine and emergency visits and have always treated my dogs in a gentle and kind manner, and it make the vet visits easier to deal with, it can be a struggle with two! Having a trustworthy vet is very important to me, and I know a lot of people in the area are looking for the same. It is the only place I will take my animals, and they haven't let me down yet. I am quite thankful for them, and appreciate everything they do for the animals in our community.

    Pet Name: minnie and daisy

For a family of pet lovers, nothing is more important than having a veterinary team that loves animals as much as we do. At Shaker Road everyone from the receptionists to the veterinarians treat your pets like their own; with great love and competent care. Thank you Shaker Road staff for making our precious pets feel so safe, comfortable and loved at your facility.

  • Gracie

    -Alison from East Longmeadow, MA

I can't express how grateful I am for the care Gracie received recently. Thank you so much. Gracie isn't the easiest patient to deal with and due to the expertise, patience and kindness, everything worked out very well. The doctors and staff and services went well beyond my expectations.

When I was told Gracie had cancer that alone was challenging in itself.

A special thanks to Lynn for dealing with me during my meltdown episode.

A special thank you to Dr. Dzulinsky for all that you did.

  • First Impressions

    -Meghan from Agawam, MA
    Pet Name: Gypsee

I had my cat, Bagheera, for 15 years. For 15 years, I took her to another vet for her care; and when that hospital closed, I asked around for another vet. Shaker Road was recommended to me by more than one person. I brought a very sick cat to see Dr. Eva Skibild. We did not know what was wrong, but KNEW something was very wrong. The care and compassion that Dr. Skibild showed to Bagheera, me and my family was absolutely incredible - so gentle, so caring, so empathetic - she was just great! And, this was the first time I brought Bagheera to see her! A week later, I brought Bagheera back to say good bye. Again, the doctor was so compassionate, so caring; and all the staff there was so good, too! They made a very difficult time a little more bearable. 6 weeks later, I brought my new feline friend, Gypsee, to see Dr. Skibild and I know she will be great throughout Gypsee's life and care needs!! Thank you!
