Thank you for your sympathy card for our loss of Cody Bear. He was clearly loved by our family and we miss him so much. We want to thank all of you for treating Cody Bear and all of our other dogs as part of your family. The wonderful care you have given and continue to give to our dogs means so much to us.

Thanks for all of your time, consideration, and patience. You are always willing to answer my many questions and I appreciate not only yours but the staff at VCA Sawmill's efforts. I am forever indebted for the loving and thorough care you show my dogs. I cannot express the peace of mind I have knowing I have access to such a wonderful veterinarian and a terrific boarding facility. You make my job of being a responsible and informed pet owner easy.

Pet Name: Apollo
My husband and I have brought our animals to VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital for over seven years. We have always been satisfied with the overall quality of care that the staff has provided. We are animal-lovers who are committed to the well-being of our pets, for us it is important to have a vet who shares this compassion.
We have been searching for a treatment plan for our boxer, Apollo, since he began scratching the hair off his ears around four years ago. We have consulted various specialists in an effort to define and treat the source of his problem, instead of only treating his symptoms. It has been our goal to provide Apollo with a steroid-free life and it has been frustrating that despite our efforts we were unable to improve his quality of life.
We recently moved and were considering changing to a vet closer to our new home when we met Dr. Joe Bando. He has renewed our loyalties to the VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital with his attentive and sympathetic care. He seems to genuinely understand our frustrations and has personally invested himself in determining the most appropriate treatment for Apollo.
Dr. Bando always takes the time to listen to our concerns and thoroughly explain all of the treatment options. We are very greatful for his hard work and dedication. We've decided not to change vets because we value the care of Dr. Bando and the entire staff of VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital.

Pet Name: Pugsly
I have a 9 yr old Pug that was diagnosed with C2, C3 and C4 damage. He was not able to walk, his back legs would give out, he was in a lot of pain, and on heavy doses of medication. I had taken him to two different vets and the outcome was the same, that the only alternative was surgery and there was no guarantee as to the results. A friend told me about Physical Therapy at VCA and I thought I would give it a try. The results were amazing, my Pug can now walk, I have taken him off his pain medications, reduced his anti-inflamatory medications, and everyone that sees him can't believe it is the same dog. Sally the Physical Therapist did an excellent job in his therapy and the TLC that was provided by the entire staff at VCA was amazing. They treated my Pug as one of their own. I can't say enough good about this program and the staff. They are the best, and I call them my Miracle Workers. When I took my Pug back to the Vet for a follow up visit he was amazed and shocked at the results. He took the information and will definitely be making referrals to VCA. Thanks to everyone at VCA. You're the BEST!!!

Pet Name: Porsche
My 22 month old Doberman is an agility athlete. She is just beginning her wonderful career when she turned up lame on her shoulder. After x-rays it was decided a soft tissue injury. I was told rest and anti inflammatory drugs. I knew she needed more to bring her back to competition strength. Sally was great. Porsche received ultrasound, laser, and underwater treadmill work. We are working on strength and flexibility. I hope to bring her back to competition soon. Thanks for a quick recovery for my girl.

Pet Name: Porsche
I have a Doberman and do agility competition. Porsche is a very high drive girl and can easily injure herself. She came up lame on her shoulder. X-Rays decided it was a soft tissue injury. Sally was great with my girl. We had laser, ultrasound and underwater treadmill work. Within a few weeks we will soon be able to get back to work. Just using rest and anti inflammatory drugs were just not going to be enough. I needed my athlete back. Thank you Sally for all of your hard work. We hope to be back in the competition ring soon.

Dr. Kandace Gertz and Dr. Joe Bando are two of the finest Doctors I have ever met. Last November, Tipper, our 13-year-old Yorkie became critically ill. My wife and I and Tipper had just moved to Columbus. I don't recall why my wife picked VCA Sawmill, but I am forever grateful she did. Every staff member I came in contact with from start to finish was exceptionally caring and professional. I immediately knew that our "heart with four legs" was in the best of hands. The knowledge, skill, patient care and compassion that both Dr. Gertz and Dr. Bando showed us were unparalleled. Their people skills and ability to communicate very technical information in a crisis situation was superb. Their bedside manner with both patient and parents should be taught in both Veterinarian and Human medical schools. I have 25 years experience working in emergency medicine and trauma surgery. I know good Doctors when I see them. I hold both of them in the highest esteem and will take my four legged family members to no one else. I wish they would agree to see me as a patient! We would like to thank everyone at VCA Sawmill. You are all a very special breed. No pun intended.

Pet Name: Mosey
Dr. Watters from VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital did wonders for my dog! He is a 13 yr old Husky who had a large 1.5 pound mass that needed to be removed. It was a very tricky surgery but Dr. Watters wasn't timid about trying to remove the mass unlike most Vets I've taken my dog to see. The surgery went well and she did an amazing job! My dog and I couldn't be happier! Thank you VCA Sawmill for literally taking the best care of my dog possible! Also thank you to Kaitlin Jones, a vet tech there, for giving me comfort through Mosey's recovery. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else and getting the same comfort!! Thank You!!

Pet Name: Riley
I took my golden retriever Riley to VCA for the first time yesterday. Although she was really nervous to be at the vet the staff did everything they could to make her comfortable we saw Dr. Beckett and I have to say after many visits at other vet offices he was by far my favorite vet I have seen yet. He was super nice and playful with my dog and made her nerves go down as much as they could. He gave me an honest opinion which I felt was sincere and I didn't leave with a huge bill as I have before. We will Definitely be returning to VCA and seeing doctor Beckett and his nurse again:) and I recommend this highly when asked by people where to take their pet!
