To enhance the enjoyment of your pet's stay, we offer premium boarding facilities and an exceptional menu of additional services. These additional items include extra outside play time and TLC, "ice cream" treats, edible bones, raised or orthopedic beds, and professional grooming services before your pet goes home. Please be sure to sign up for any of the special services that your pet will enjoy during his/her stay. All extra services are in addition to the daily boarding rate.
Daily Boarding Rates
We provide premium boarding for your pet based on their weight. If your pet is...
- Less than 20 pounds, their daily rate is $21.00
- 20.1 pounds to 40 pounds, their daily rate is $22.00
- 40.1 pounds to 60 pounds, their daily rate is $23.00
- 60.1 pounds and over, their daily rate is $24.00

In order for us to arrange to have your pet stay with us, you must first call the hospital at 614-766-2222 to schedule a reservation. When your reservation is scheduled, we will provide you with a reservation confirmation number. Please keep that number for reference. Once you have that confirmation number, we encourage you to fill out the VCA Sawmill Canine Boarding Check-In Form. This form allows you to let us know about your pet's needs while he or she stays with us, what types of extra services he or she can enjoy, and contact information for you. It also will speed up your pet's check-in time.
For all boarding reservations, we require a credit card number or a $26.00 cash deposit to secure the reservation time. We do have a 48 hour cancellation policy. In the event that you cancel your reservation with less than a 48 hour notice prior to your date of arrival, or if you do not show up for your reservation, your credit card will be charged that $26.00 cancellation/no-show fee. All reservations will be given a confirmation number and all cancellations will be given a cancellation number.
We require all reservations to be made prior to any animals being dropped off. Please call anytime during business hours to make a reservation or to check availability. We do not begin a waitlist until our VCA Mill Run location (at 3660 Ridge Mill Drive in Hilliard - 614-529-2222) is full as well.
If your pet has not been seen here before, or if you go elsewhere for vaccinations, we do require you to provide us with the current vaccination records prior to the date of arrival. We require Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella for our canine guests, and Distemper and Rabies for the felines.
Please make yourself aware of our business hours and any holiday hours. Boarding arrivals must be dropped off one half hour prior to closing. If you are not sure, please ask a receptionist.
Please bring all medications in their original containers. We will record all instructions at the time of drop off.
Feel free to bring any toys, treats, or personal items for your pet to make his/her stay more comfortable. We will record all belongings at the time of drop off. We supply a fleece pad to all of our guests. If needed, you may bring your own bedding, but please be advised personal bedding can become soiled or may be misplaced in the process of cleaning. Large dog beds most likely will not be able to be washed.
We strive to provide the best care and compassion for your pets. If at any time we have the need for special or emergency treatments while your pet is boarding with us, we will first attempt to contact the emergency number to inform them of the situation. If your pet gets ill while here, and it is not an emergency, our veterinary staff will provide treatment to make him/her comfortable. You have the option to decline treatment by our staff at the time of check-in. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding of our policies to provide a fair and timely service to all.
Lastly, if you have not filled out the VCA Sawmill Canine Boarding Check-In Form and either faxed or e-mailed it to us, we will need you do so so at the time of check-in.
During busy times (summer months and holidays) we recommend that you make any boarding, grooming or bathing appointments well in advance, as these services do book quickly.
