  • Kennel Assistant

    Andrew Lopez

I was born in California, living in the Bay Area until I was 10 years old. After that I moved to a new state every few years until I went to college in Florida at UCF. I have always loved animals having multiple cats and dogs throughout my life; currently I have a calico cat named Trixie. I Started at VCA in 2014 and quickly learned that my love for animals made it a perfect fit for me!

  • Groomer

    Michelle Alves

My name is Michelle. I am a native Texan and was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas. I’ve always had a passion for working with animals; I was able to get an opportunity in high school to experiment with a career choice in fulfilling that passion. I spent 2 years in a 1 veterinary practice developing the skills necessary to become a veterinary technician. In 2006 I joined the V CA family. I started out as a receptionist and was soon able to cross train as a groomer. I transferred to VCA Sandy Lake in 2011. Currently, I remain as a groomer here but am also working towards being a Veterinary Technician. I am a proud mother of a 6yr old daughter named Ava. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat who are also my children. In my spare time I enjoy spending family time.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you. Our specialized services include: behavior, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, dermatology, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, rehabilitation, reproduction, and surgery.
