VCA San Martin Animal Hospital

Anika Colopy, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Biography

Dr. Colopy was born in Germany and moved to Maryland with her family at age 11.
She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Philosophy and a BS in Animal Sciences and then moved to California to attend the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Glad to have escaped the east coast humidity and rain, she never looked back. Within the field of veterinary medicine, she is especially interested in animal behavior medicine, feline medicine, neurology, and acute and chronic pain management of dogs and cats.

Although her clinical focus is in small animal medicine, she also has a passion for horses and equestrian sports. Her horse's name is Turbo, a retired race horse that she adopted from a rescue organization. They enjoy competing in events (dressage, cross-country and show jumping). She also shares her home with Yuri, a Black Russian Terrier, and two three-legged cats (Chan Chu and Sanzuwu).

Dr. Colopy considers herself fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff and learn from her patients and clients every day.
