Biography

Dr. John Heit was born in New York and moved to Los Alamitos, California in 1969. Dr. Heit received his bachelors of Science degree from U.C. Davis with a major in animal science in 1974. He obtained his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of the Philippines School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. Dr. Heit has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years in the southern California area. Prior to joining VCA Dr. Heit owned and operated a successful private practice in Los Alamitos, California for over 15 years. In 1999 Dr. Heit merged practices with VCA Rossmoor El Dorado Animal Hospital. Dr. Heit is married and has two beautiful daughters. Dr. Heit has multiple pets; Dakota, a Bernese Mountain dog, Shiloh, a Golden Retriever mix, Dixie, a Queensland Healer mix, Milo, a domestic medium hair, Freckles a domestic short hair, and George a California Desert Tortoise. In his spare time Dr. Heit enjoys, skiing, boating, and scuba diving.
