VCA Pets Are People Too Veterinary Hospital

  • Hospital Manager

    Heather Mangal
School: Seton Hall University, Master of Public Administration

Heather was born in New York City and raised in Woodstock, NY. She spent her childhood surrounded by animals; she even rescued a goat at the age of 12. Heather attended college at The City University of New York, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in multimedia journalism. After college, Heather worked as a publicist at a New York City public relations firm while she was attending graduate school for public administration. While writing her thesis on companion animal policies across the country, Heather decided it was time that she immersed herself in the veterinary world, and began working as a client care coordinator at an emergency animal hospital. Heather knew that she wanted to do administration work for an organization or company centered on animals, and couldn't be happier that she found her dream job.

Her favorite part about working at VCA Pets Are People Too - Chamblee/Dunwoody is her interaction with the clients (and of course their pets). "The beauty of working at smaller hospital is that you are able to get to know each client and their pet at a personal level," says Heather.

When she's not working, Heather enjoys kickboxing, running, hiking, dog training, and spending time with her two rescued cats (Bette Davis and Jersey Boy) and two rescued dogs (Andie and Yogi).
