Our Tacoma Animal Hospital
Parkway is located on Pacific Avenue in Parkland, just at the bottom of the hill where Pacific Avenue becomes Spanaway. We are on the left-hand side, facing the hill. We have a large sign with the temperature and time on it, which makes it easy to spot us.
Parkway was started in 1960 by Drs. Tibbitts and Valentine. The clinic moved into a building that was previously a furniture shop, where today Len's Mower Service resides. Part of the building was devoted to an apartment and a machine shop, but the machine shop was converted to clinic space as the practice grew. Being one of the earlier practices in Tacoma, Drs. Tibbitts and Valentine had a lively practice that treated farm animals, dogs and cats, and the occasional elephant or gorilla from the B&I store. In 1996, a new hospital was built across from the old site, which gave us some much needed room.
Today, we are part of VCA (Veterinary Centers of America). Parkway's staff is proud to offer care for your dogs and cats. We have three full-time veterinarians and one part-time veterinarian who does specialized surgeries.
