Biography

Dr. Susan Barden has practiced small animal medicine in Denver since 2001, previously with University Hills Animal Hospital and Firehouse Animal Health Centers. Dr. Barden received both her DVM and BS in Animal Science from Colorado State University. She serves on the DAVMS board and maintains memberships with the CVMA and AVMA. Her special interests include internal medicine, geriatric/preventative care and acupuncture. She is a long term Park Hill resident and participates on the annual Park Hill Home Tour Committee. Dr. Barden volunteers her time on the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society board, screening dogs for Children's Hospital Colorado's Prescription Pet Program, Forgotten Felines Rescue and mentoring students with DPS Community Resources Inc. and career fairs. She shares her 1939 Tudor home with her husband, Michael, their boxer, lab mix, kitty and cockatiel. In her free time she enjoys Nosework wit her Labrador mix, hiking, home projects and gardening.
