An Answer To Our Prayers

-Sharon Rowe from Conway, SC
Pet Name: Ch. Shroki's Color My World

My husband and I have bred and shown Shih Tzu for the past 20 years. Several years ago, my husband was going to transfer to SC due to work. I was on a mission to find a Vet in our area that understood the breed and that would work with us and our breeding program. I interviewed every Vet within a 50 mile radius and then I found Dr. Newman with VCA Animal Hospital. Dr. Newman has been an answer to our prayers. She understands the breed and is always open to new ideas. Her communication skills are the best.

Dr. Newman and her staff at VCA Palmetto Animal Hospital make "going to the Vet" a pleasure.

Thank you for being our Vet Hospital.

Drs. Bishop, Moland And Staff Top Notch

-Kristin and Jeff Thompson from Myrtle Beach, SC
Pet Name: Mia and Haley

We've spent some time at VCA in Myrtle Beach this year with two of our four rescue pets. We couldn't be more impressed by the level of medical care, compassion for the animals and their families, the friendly and professional staff as well as the comfort and cleanliness of the facility. We felt for more routine care, like vaccinations and even spaying it would be okay to use a veterinarian more convenient to where we live. We won't do that again! What you think may be routine, could indeed be anything but. Complications can result when you least expect them. And trust me, when your sweet and giving companion is suffering in part due to your choices, it's painful. From now on, our pets will be loyal patients of Drs. Bishop and Moland. Whether its routine vaccinations and check-ups or surgical intervention, we won't give our precious companions less than the best care available. Thanks everyone at VCA Palmetto in Myrtle Beach. We're so blessed to have you here. Smiles, Kristin

Martha's Angel on Earth

-Jim Johnson from Calabash, NC
Pet Name: Martha

Recently I became a foster failure because I could not imagine living without my 106 pound sweet as sugar Lab Bloodhound mix girl. One evening my big ole Teddy Bear had an instant display of pain in her back so off to VCA Palmetto Animal Hospital we go.. Over the last several years I had seen most of the doctors there and all are great but this visit I saw a new doctor in the practice and was a bit apprehensive. I was soon made to feel otherwise. My sweet girl was given a thorough exam and the problem was soon discovered and thankfully no surgery was indicated. She was so gentle with my 4 paws daughter. Dr. Kathryn McCutcheon is awesome. She listened to my ideas on my 4 paws girl and used them to make the suggestions for treatment. I am very impressed with Dr. McCutcheon and pray she will be at Palmetto for many years to come as she is my big ole girl's Angel on Earth..

Simply stated, "They saved her life"

-Barry Woolf from Sarasota, FL
Pet Name: Elphie

Recently I had scheduled a month long stay in Myrtle Beach in the hopes of relocating and becoming familiar with the surroundings. While walking through The Legends my dog and I were attacked by a large pit bull. It left me on my knees in the street holding my six-month old Shar Pei bleeding and in shock. Neighbors directed me to VCA Palmetto where they immediately began working to save the life of my little girl. After several hours of emergency treatment and surgery I was told my baby would recover and was resting comfortably. For the next few days I was constantly calling on the phone and felt like I was becoming a nuisance. I was assured it was not the case and patience and compassion was evident every turn with every employee. There were slight medical complications that followed but they were attended to immediately and a few days later we left and returned to Florida. I cannot thank EACH and EVERY person enough. They saved my dog's life...pure and simple. Dr. Shawna Buerkle, who stitched and stapled my little girl together, called me and patiently explained all the follow up treatments and answered all my questions and concerns. There were several other special people but I fear if I started mentioning names I would inadvertently overlook someone. Everyone was so kind and compassionate. I am forever grateful. When I finally get myself and my little girl settled in Myrtle Beach, the VCA Palmetto office will be one of our first stops to say hello and return to our see our friends and newly adopted family we are so lucky and grateful to have found.
