    Tina is originally from Conway and has been with VCA for 17 years. She is a proud mother of 2 children. She also has one child of the furry variety named Speckles who is 17yrs old and diabetic.

    Katie Holland

    Katie is originally from St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. She  moved to Myrtle Beach in 1997.  Katie attended Coastal Carolina University for Graphic Design but soon discovered that was not what made her heart happy.  She decided to attend Horry Georgetown Technical College to get her Veterinary Assistance Certification.  Katie has always had a passion for animals, her Cruzan roots sparkled her interest in exotic animals such as birds and reptiles.  Katie's pride and joy, aside from her son Kyler and fiancé' Kevin, is her 4 year old Siberian husky mix Izzy Mae.

    Jon Locke

    Jon has been a veterinary technician for 4 years. He is originally form Maryland. He moved to Myrtle Beach to attend the Golf Academy of America  to pursue a career in the golf industry.  Jon enjoys spending time outdoors playing sports, going to the beach, and hiking with his dog Rose.

    John Lorton

    John is 26 years old and originates from Tinton Falls, NJ. After moving down south, he decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. John attended Horry Georgetown Technical College to complete his veterinary assistant certification. He began interning with VCA and was eventually brought on as a full time member of the team. Since then, he has been trained up to become a technician. When not at work, John enjoys spending time with his furry best friend, a six year old Pit Bull named Dutchie.

    Rachelle O'Connell

    Rachelle has been a veterinary technician for 2 years.  She is married to her high school sweetheart Conrad.  Rachelle has a 3 year old dog named Lola that she recused from the Human Society.  She is very passionate and inspired by the work she does for the animals. Rachelle enjoys spending time with her family.

    Mary Powers

    Mary is originally from Connecticut and graduated from UConn. She has called Myrtle Beach home for 7 years and has been a Veterinary Technician specializing in exotics for 5 years. In her spare time she works training camels and falconry birds. She lives with her 29 toed Lynx cat Kenzi and looks forward to helping all our feathered and scaly patients.

    Jenny Salter

    Jenny was born in North Carolina but calls South Carolina her home.  Her work with animals extends form Northern California, New Mexico, to here in the Grand Strand.  Jenny lives in Conway with her two dogs and two cats.  Jenny is an overnight emergency technician.

    Alysia Wideman

    Alysia  grew up in Huger, South Carolina. She enjoys working with animals and doing anything outdoors including: hiking, fishing, kayaking, and horseback riding. Alysia graduated from Clemson University, with a Bachelor's of Science degree, with an emphasis in animal and veterinary sciences. She has always loved working with animals and hope to further her education in animal veterinary sciences. Throughout her life she has always had an interest in animal care and have a passion for all animals. Much of her experience is in small animal medicine but while she was at Clemson University she  was able to gain experience with equine, swine, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, and poultry. This is where she discovered her passion for working with swine. Alysia was also able to participate in research through Godley-Snell's Research Center. She has recently moved to this area with her husband and they are enjoying the beach very much. She has five pets of her own. Santee, her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Hobbes and Luke, her orange tabbies, Carlos, her red Earred Slider, and Reptar, her Bearded Dragon. She is very excited to continue gaining experience in animal care and exploring the area!

    Julie Wright

    Julie is the overnight emergency technician here at VCA Palmetto Animal Hospital.  She moved here a little over a year ago from Philadelphia and she loves everything about South Carolina.  Julie has been a veterinary technician for 6 years and every day is a new adventure.  She has 2 dogs. Gemma is a 6 year old pit-bull and Biggie is a 10 year old canary mastiff mix.  She also has 2 cats. Lilly Belle is a 5 year old maine coone that is a lover and Cow is a 7 year old DSH that she raised from day 1 who likes to cause trouble.

    Casey Yarborough

    Casey graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Conservation Biology. She has always had a love for animals and found her purpose working with them everyday. She's learned a lot working with many different species on her mom's farm and has four amazing pets of her own. They range from a 180 lb English Mastiff, Riley, to a deaf 3 lb Maltese, Pixie. She also has a Black Lab, Meeko and a small Tortishell, Fae. Her love for animals has no limits and she frequently brings home wounded strays. Once a wounded kitten, Fae, quickly became part of the family.

    Jessie Vinickas

    Jessie has been working in the veterinary field for 10 years as a kennel and veterinary assistant. She is originally from Connecticut. Wanting to get away from the cold weather and snow, she moved to Myrtle Beach in August 2015. She graduated from University Of Connecticut in 2010 with a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She's always had a passion for animals and enjoys providing them with the best of care.
