VCA Pahle Animal Hospital

Elisabeth Peters, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Biography

I have been working at VCA Pahle Animal Hospital since October 2011 after spending 2 1/2 years in a mixed animal practice.  I really enjoy the variety of patients and disease processes seen on a daily basis.

I was born in La Salle, Illinois and am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  I loved anatomy, surgery and pathology.

When I'm away from the hospital, I enjoy gardening, cooking, hiking, canoing, and spending time with my dogs.

I was raised on a Centennial Family Farm in North-Central Illinois.  My sister is currently in a pediatrics residency focusing on immunology and my brother has continued to expand and advance our family farm.  My parents have always been very supportive and continue to encourage us all to grow.

My greatest accomplishment in life was becoming the only female to make the Marching Illini Drumline my first year auditioning.

I have two dogs, Brandy & Mia, but please don't make me pick a favorite!

If I could meet anyone, living or dead, I would have to say any of our founding Fathers.  They faced adversity and oppression with such courage, strength, and faith.  It's inspiring to try to live life with those same qualities.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  It's a great time to reunite with family.  And who doesn't like stuffing and pumpkin pie?

I am very excited to join the Pahle team and look forward to providing our clients and patients with progressive, compassionate care!
