Biography
Dr. McCarthy has been practicing small animal medicine in Texas, Arizona, and Colorado since 1990, most recently at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Dr. McCarthy received her BS in Chemistry from Sul Ross State University, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. In 2005, Dr. McCarthy also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Colorado State University. Dr. McCarthy serves on the board of directors, and is an active participant in ViDAS, a non-profit organization providing subsidized veterinary services to impoverished and underserved populations of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Dr. McCarthy is a member of several veterinary professional organizations, including the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society, the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. McCarthy�s medical interests include internal medicine, surgery, preventive medicine, and dentistry. Dr. McCarthy shares her home with three wonderful shelter finds: a Heeler mix named Emmy Lou, a Lab mix named Poppy and Dickie the cat, who thinks he�s a dog. Dr. McCarthy enjoys water and snow sports, running events in the summer, and bluegrass music anytime.
