Pocket Pet Boarding

VCA Old Marple Animal Hospital offers comfortable boarding that features separate boarding facilities from our canine boarding for cat and exotic pets, which include rabbits, ferrets, birds, guinea pigs and gerbils. Moreover, we also provide a separate room for our avian friends. However, we do ask that should you board your birds or "pocket pets" that you bring a cage and any special dietary needs.

Staff - Our dedicated kennel staff is fully trained to provide for all of your pet's needs during their stay with us. Out hospital has a doctor and technicians working 24 hours a day, seven days a week should your pet become ill during its stay. We take pride in our medical team and hope that it will provide you with additional peace of mind.

Making Reservations - Contact our friendly reception staff to make the proper arrangements or to ask any questions that you might have. All pets being boarded MUST be current for all vaccinations, have a bi-annual fecal exam, and examined within the last year. This must be current two weeks prior to reservation drop-off date. For any non-client boarders we ask that proof of the requirements to be provided prior to the boarding reservation.

Dropping Off Your Pet - When the drop off date arrives, please bring your pet into the kennel to be checked-in. At that time we will ask for an emergency number should the need to contact you arise during your pet's stay. You will need to provide feeding instructions and a pick-up time. Please also note any behavior or medical issues that your pet may have. If your pet is on ANY medication please bring its original container. Each container should be labeled as to the type of medication and proper dosage to be administered. Keep in mind that certain medical conditions may require hospitalized boarding, which is available for a slight up-charge. Also, please mention medication requirements to the reception staff when arranging reservations.

Picking Up Your Pet - Please provide a pick-up time when you drop off your pet. If possible, please notify us of any changes or delays in your schedule. Your pet will be ready to be picked-up after 11:00am Monday - Saturday and 12:00noon on Sunday. We ask that you do no come before these times so that we have time to give your pet a bath if applicable.

What to Bring
Bedding & Toys: We ask that you leave any of your pets' bedding and toys at home. We have plenty of towels, blankets and toys that we will provide.

Food: We ask that you bring your pets' food from home and to provide feeding instructions. Please make sure that it is in a sturdy container clearly marked with your pet's name!

Additional Services
Baths: Your pet is provided with a bath on the scheduled day of pick-up. If your pet requires a special shampoo or you do not want your pet bathed, please inform the kennel attendant at the time of drop-off.

Medical Services - Medical problems and elective surgeries can be scheduled during your pet's stay. Also, if a problem should arise while your pet is our guest, it will be brought to the attention of a veterinarian at Old Marple. Your pet will be examined and treated appropriately. Our hospital offers 24 hour emergency care.
