Joanna Murray, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Joanna Murray was born and raised in Queens, N.Y. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian, and has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years. She attended Binghamton University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2004. During this time Dr. Murray spent a semester studying wildlife conservation in the West African country Equatorial Guinea. Following her undergraduate training Dr. Murray spent two years working with a research team studying a wild population of American Crows in Ithaca, N.Y. She then went on to earn a degree in veterinary medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. Following this, Dr. Murray completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Aurora and Berwyn Animal Hospitals in Illinois. She then headed back to the East Coast, and has been a member of the VCA Old Marple Emergency team since the summer of 2011.
In her free time Dr. Murray enjoys nature walks, hiking, yoga, photography and scrap booking. She has a Berger Picard named Fifi, a Standard Poodle named Rufus, and a sassy black and white cat named Dainty.
