    Lisa Hewlett

Lisa joined our team in December 2012 but has been in the VCA family for several years and has worked in the Veterinary field for the past 26 years.  She was raised in Felton Delaware and still resides there with her husband and daughter and her two four legged friends; Allie and Winston.  She attended Delaware Technical & Community College and Wesley College after graduating from Lake Forest High School.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Why I do what I do: I was raised up on a farm and my life was surrounded by animals. I whole heartedly enjoyed it but one day I was riding the bus to school and someone that was getting on the bus placed a kitten in her book bag so she could drop the kitten off at school because her mom wouldn't let her keep it at the house. Upon arriving at school there was a dog that was playing too rough with the kitten so I decided to take the kitten and hide her in my locker and get some milk from the cafeteria. I would then sneak her home on the bus. Some kids were hanging around my locker and the principal found out and made me release her. After begging him to let me call my mom he said, “She's just a cat!” I was devastated. While he released her outside, with nowhere to go, I decided then that someone had to help these pets and I was going to be one of them.

  • Assistant Manager

    Kim Dudder

Kim has been working in the veterinary medicine field for 12 years as a technician and manager. She recently relocated from the Olympic Peninsula near Seattle Washington, with her husband and daughter, Willa.

  • Office Manager

    Kathleen Brady

Katie lives in Royersford, PA with her beloved cat Cortez who looks like a cat, acts like a dog, and sounds like a bird. So she has her own menagerie all in one. She has been  at VCA Old Marple Animal Hospital since 2005 in various departments over the years and is our office manager.

Why I do what I do:  I knew from a very early age that I just had to be around animals. I chose to be a part of the veterinary field so that I could help keep them healthy and safe. Though as a child I originally wanted to be a veterinarian myself, I have found that I am still able to assist fellow animal lovers and their companions through the administrative side of the veterinary field. When I am not at work or catering to Cortez I enjoy hiking, archery, and reading.

Special Note:  What can we say about Katie?  She is just an amazing person and a huge part of our family.  She is the linchpin to keeping our hospital running smoothly.  She tackles anything you give her with enthusiasm but above all else she looks out for our patients and our clients and we couldn't ask for more than that.
