Dr. Amanda Sayers was born in Bremerton, WA, and was raised in the Dallas, TX area. She was always interested in animal growing up and enjoyed spending time on her Grandfather's farm. She attended the University of Washington and received a BS in Zoology in 2002. During this time she started volunteering at a veterinary clinic, and was able to complete a research apprenticeship at Friday Harbor Laboratories. After graduation, she worked as an assistant at a small animal private practice and emergency clinic in Seattle. Dr. Sayers graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with her clinical year at Purdue University in 2009. She then moved to Ohio to work in a small animal private practice until 2013, when she moved back to the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Sayers is excited to be close to family and friends, as well as the mountains and ocean. On her days off she enjoys hiking, running, rock climbing, snowboarding, and is now interested in pursuing cycling as a hobby. Her pets include two dogs and two cats.
