Dr. Lara Cabugawan was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She attended veterinary school at De La Salle Araneta University (formerly known as Gregorio Araneta University) in Malabon, Philippines. She was given an award for high score and ranking 8th place on the Philippine Veterinary Licensure Exam. After graduating, Dr. Cabugawan worked as an associate veterinarian for less than a year in a small animal practice in Manila when she finally decided to relocate to the United States. While preparing for the New York State National Board exam, she worked as a veterinary technician at the ASPCA in Manhattan and VCA Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists. She learned and became skilled with numerous procedures and this became her stepping stone to acquire her license in New York State. Following the passing of her board exam, Dr. Cabugawan started to work as a per-diem veterinarian in various hospitals located in the five boroughs of New York. Her goal is to achieve the best quality and compassionate care possible that a veterinarian can give her patients.
