Caring and Honest Vet-Dorian and Wayne Foster from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Bear
I have been taking our animals to Oak Hills hospital for many years and have gotten to know Dr Tschirhart quite well with our 2 big dogs and cats, and strays, etc. One of our dogs, Bear, has been having ongoing problems with her skin and Dr T always has good ideas of things to try (even when our budget goes up and down, he is reasonable). Bear suffered from a stroke after a seizure almost 2 years ago and we thought she would need to be put down, but Dr T examined her after she came out of the emergency hospital and said "give her some time...dogs bounce back better than humans from strokes". He saved her life with those words. We rehabilitated Bear back to normal and she has had many more happy years. The staff there is great and they really work to squeeze you in if you don't have an appointment.
Compassionate Care-Emily Ward from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Annie
Thank you,Dr. Harwood for the final time in your tremendously compassionate care of Annie. God bless you and your staff. It has been a privilege knowing you since 1981 when you delivered my last pet Bella, my red, long haired Dachsund. You also put Bella to sleep in April 1994 when she had just had her 13th birthday. Annie would have been 15 years old on November 15th of this year.

This is the place to bring your beloved pets-Mayra and Ralph Ortiz from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Maximus
My husband and I highly recommend bringing your pets/kids to VCA Oak Hills Animal Hospital. All our experiences with them have been outstanding. It all begins with the office staff that welcomes you with a smiling face and a positive attitude. Thank you you Elizabeth, Natalie and Linda at the front. Also special thanks to Leonard and Mike, vet techs, who always handle my 4-legged children with love, care and professionalism. My biggest thanks go out to Dr. Sajini Guntur, our vet. She has a passion for being a vet. The moment we met her and saw how she took the time to answer our questions, and how well she cared for our babies we knew this is the place for us. We were so scared as we learned that our dog, Maximus had acquired heartworms. We were devastated, but Dr. Guntur explained to us that there is a series of 2 injections that can be given to get rid of the heart worms. Dr. Guntur and all the staff made this experience so comfortable. Dr. Guntur even took the time to call me after hours just to make sure Maximus was doing well, and gave me so many tips that has helped us to get our baby on the road to recovery. I can't possibly explain how awesome the VCA Hospital has been, but I hope that if anyone is in need of a caring and loving place to take their loved one, that you look no more as you have found it here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you guys do and will continue to do for our family!!!!
One and only Vet care for my pets-Jan Chalfant from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Sarah
Since moving to San Antonio in 1973, Oak Hills Veterinary has been the only Veterinary hospital for my dogs. They answer my 1:00 am or 3:00 am calls for emergencies, have always been very helpful with any problems my pets have, including a gall bladder removal just last year. Drs Harwood, Hill and Tschirhart, and Linda Gutierrez and staff are always ready to help in any way they can. God Bless.
My Heart Goes Out to The Doctors-Susan Garcia from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Sadie,Tucker,Gracie,and Rusty Garcia
My Heart goes out to all of the Vets there. I do not care for the revolving door doctors, techs, or the receiving front desk of some places. Since 1976 I have used these Vets. Only once I lost a Dachshund to Parvo and it wasn't because of lack of care or compassion. I also had Famos Amos who only lived 4 years because of severe allergies. I can tell you Dr.Paul Tschirhart took excellent care of Amos. Over 30 years Dr. Hill, Dr. Harwood and Dr. Paul Tschirhart and now Dr. Jena Bernavente have done excellent care of my pets. Please try these doctors. You will love Linda at the front desk and all the wonderful staff. Please remember sometimes we lose our beloved animals, the Vets try!. We will see our Pets/Family across the Rainbow Bridge.
The work is thorough, the smiles are for real-Patrick Lemelle from San Antonio, TX
My wife and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the service at VCA Oak Hills Animal Hospital. The staff is one of the most compassionate group of people I have met in a long time. We had taken our two big dogs, (Texas & Zen), to several different veterinary hospitals before coming to the VCA Oak Hills, but the service was sorely lacking. Texas passed away due to an incurable cancer, but only after the good doctors did all they possibly could to save him. The entire staff consoled and supported us in our loss and kept in touch through the following weeks. These folks are genuine and treated our pets as if they were their own. We will continue using their services for a long time. Their work is thorough and their smiles are for real. Great job guys; thanks for everything and keep up the good work!!!
Great with old and temperamental dogs-Mark Tovar from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: CODY
Dr. Paul Tschirhart, DVM, is thorough and makes sure you understand all information needed. Vet techs and front desk are always kind and can really handle even the most aloof and sassy dogs like my Akita/Chow Cody. I trust VCA with my dogs geriatric health concerns that are many and I even board there.
I appreciate all you do
Service-Danny Luna from San Antonio, TX

I am very thankful to the the Doctor and staff that took care of our angel Rosie, she is our 2 year old pitbull, she required surgery for an abdominal pain, they took care of her and kept us informed on everything that was going on. Thank you again for making our precious dog happy and full of life again!I Attached a picture of her brother Skippy as we were leaving the hospital.
Great Service-Kim Parsons from San Antonio, TX
Pet Name: Chief
My husband I have had nothing but great experiences with the people at Oak Hills. Our dog, Chief, came down with a mysterious gastrointestinal illness a few months after we adopted him. My husband found him listless and incredibly dehydrated after work one day and rushed him to Oak Hills. We are sure that if not for the quick work by Dr. Guntur and her team that he would not be with us. Dr. Marie recently helped us make one of the hardest decisions - to give away our second adopted pet so that she could have a chance in a single-dog family. The entire staff there has been supportive and helpful - no matter what our questions are!
