Biography

Dr. Maria Santabene, VMD, is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. She obtained her BS in Biology in 2006 from Allegheny College followed by her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, with high honors.  Dr. Santabene gained further training by completing a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Metropolitan Veterinarian Hospital and Referral Group in Akron, OH in 2011.


Dr. Santabene is dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate care to her patients. She practices both primary care and emergency medicine at Northview, and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).


In her spare time, Dr. Santabene enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, the outdoors, playing sports, cooking, and supporting the Penguins!

VCA Northview Animal Hospital provides 24 hour emergency veterinary care, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Emergency veterinarians, veterinary technicians and/or veterinary assistants are on staff 24 hours a day.

We provide the highest standard in veterinary emergency and critical care services. We are trained and equipped to perform a variety of emergency surgeries and procedures.
