Cara attended school at Colorado Mountain College and graduated in 2006 from the AVMA accredited Veterinary Technician program. Cara excels in emergency medicine and prides herself in the patient care she provides. Cara's family includes her 2 dogs Marley and Dacious, and 3 little fish. Cara enjoys being outdoors, hanging out at the beach, camping and taking trips to Baja with her husband and her son.

Lisa joined to VCA family in 2011 as a veterinary assistant after retiring from her successful career in the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Lisa then went back to school and earned her Registered Veterinary Technician license from San Diego Mesa College. Lisa shares her spare time with many different animal rescue organizations such as Project Wildlife, Emergency Animal Rescue, and the California Wolf Center in Julian, which is the breeding facility for the critically endangered Mexican Grey Wolf. In her additional spare time Lisa enjoys spending quality time with her family exploring all of our National Parks in their motorhome, surf kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, strength training, and furthering her knowledge in anything she can get her hands on.

Annie Wu joined the VCA North Coast family in 2010 and a Registered Veterinary Technician and has years of experience in general practices as well as emergency hospitals. Annie is one of our lead technicians that oversees our daily operations to ensure that every pet has the best experience possible. Annie has 2 dogs Dino and Bash and enjoys, surfing, reading, and spending time with her friends in her spare time.

She has over 25 years of veterinary experience ranging from general practice to emergency/critical care and was recently promoted to lead technician. She has 2 Chihuahuas Lula and Radar Love, 2 cats Edward Bunny Hopper and Bella, a Columbian Boa named Misssssisssssippi, a Corn snake named Kornelius, and a bearded dragon named Norbert. Elena lives in Encinitas with her two sons. She holds a BA in English Literature and a BA in European History and enjoys going to church, the beach, watching soccer and reading.

Imani started her career as a volunteer then moved to a kennel assistant position which led to her being a veterinary assistant.Imani has 3 pets at home, 2 dogs named Ricky and Honey and a rat named Cheeseburger! In her spare time Imani likes to volunteer with different organizations and she loves to work on as well as ride street bikes.

Tarra attended Pima Medical Institute and completed her veterinary assistant program and is working towards becoming an Registered Veterinary Technician. In her spare time, she loves taking her pit bull “Sampson” out to local dog beaches.

Cheri joined the VCA family as a veterinary assistant in 2009 and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2002. Cheri has worked work with several rescue groups and participated in trapping, spaying/neutering, and releasing feral cats for 7 years. In addition to her rescue work Cheri was a part of the Docent program at the Gulf Coast Zoo in Florida. Cheri has 5 cats, 8 birds, and a dog named Mia, and every one of them was rescued.

Ian joined the VCA North Coast family in 2008 as a veterinary assistant and took on the task of the graveyard shifts. Ian has over 22 years of experience and 9 years working in emergency medicine. He takes pride in being here for our patients when they need someone the most. Ian is owned by a dog named Stanley that he rescued when he was just a puppy. Since then Stanley accompanies Ian to work every night and enjoys saying hello to all of us one by one when he gets here. In his spare time Ian likes to play music and create amazing works of art.

Soledad "Solly" joined the VCA North Coast family in 2005 as a kennel assistant and it didn't take long with her determination to work her way up to a veterinary assistant. Solly is known around our hospital as the "Dental Queen" and has been an important staple in the hospitals growth over the years. Our clients love to see her familiar face whenever they visit, and she wills always take time to pop into the lobby and say hi to our clients. Solly has a variety of pets, dogs, cats, and even reptiles. Solly loves to spend time with her husband, 3 sons, and grandson in her spare time.
