Biography

Dr. Hugh Elliott is a graduate of the University California Dais School of Veterinary Medicine, 1985. He has been in practice in Encinitas since 1988. Dr Elliott founded the North Coast Veterinary Medical Group in 1990, which was relocated in the current facility in 2001 and is currently known as VCA North Coast Animal Hospital. Dr. Elliott has completed extensive training in the field of Veterinary surgery including TPLO and TPO certification, AO-ASIF internal fixation of fractures and Total Hip graduate courses at The Ohio State University, UC Davis Don Low Fellowship in Neurology and Neurosurgery, past AVORE surgical training participant. Additionally Dr Elliott is experienced in many non-surgical procedures such as endoscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy and thorascopy. Dr. Elliott is also a member of VECCS and has a strong interest in critical care medicine which led to the establishment of the current veterinary emergency service here at VCA North Coast Animal Hospital providing service and care 24 hours a day 365 days a year to our community.

VCA North Coast Animal Hospital provides 24 hour emergency veterinary care, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Emergency veterinarians, veterinary technicians and/or veterinary assistants are on staff 24 hours a day.
