    Melena A

Melena, a Client Service Representative, has been with VCA North Atlanta Animal Hospital since June 2012. She grew up in both Maine and Georgia. Melena was a client here before becoming part of the VCA North Atlanta Team. She said “being amongst people who love what they do and truly care about animals made me want to work here”. She has a theatre background and her smile brightens the front desk /lobby area when greeting our clients.

Melena has two dogs. Max, an American Bulldog Mix and Riot, a Rottweiler Mix both adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society. Melena hopes to someday become a foster parent.

Outside of work Melena enjoys arts and crafts, her husband, paintballing, and playing board and card games with friends and family.

"Why I do what I do" is because animals have always been a part of my lifestyle. I grew up surrounded by cats and dogs both in my immediate family and with my Grandmother, being a certified dog groomer with her own established shop,

I love the challenge of remembering names, faces and characteristics of each pet. I love being able to educate clients on difference aspects of caring for their best friends and exchanging pet stories with them.

I would never change my passion to help pets and their people during pet hood from the highs of a new adoption to the lows of a pet's illness.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you. Our specialized services include: behavior, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, dermatology, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, rehabilitation, reproduction, and surgery.
