VCA Nellis Animal Hospital

Deanna M. Ojeda, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, Colorado State University

Biography

I am originally from Bakersfield, California and I received my DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1993. I have enjoyed caring for pets and their owners here at VCA Nellis Animal Hospital since 1993. I enjoy chatting with clients, learning more about them and their interests, and advocating for their pets. When I am not at work, I participate in Career Day and Reading Fairs at neighborhood schools. I am an active member of the Tortoise Group where I volunteer to teach children how to examine their school tortoise, create field notes, teach husbandry, and give anatomy lessons. My own pets keep me busy too:

Scooter - a 14 year-old special needs, 3-legged Siamese cat

Reese - a 15 year-old Shepherd mix

Littles - a 12 year-old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix

Monster - a 28 year-old Umbrella Cockatoo

Quarterpounder - a 23 year-old desert tortoise.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you.
