Close call
-Irene Scalise from Centennial, CO
Pet Name: JunoI was driving along talking on my cell when I heard a lot of car horns beeping. I looked out my rear view mirror and saw that my dog was not in the backseat; she had jumped out the car window! I did not strap her in properly, and she was being dragged along side my car.
I called VCA Mountainview Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge and they told me to come in immediately. Juno was patched up good as new, and Dr. Fordham called to follow-up several times.
I learned my lesson about driving while talking on the cell phone, and will be forever indebted to the Mountainview team!!! -
Day has Clearly Gone to the Dogs
-Michael Jolie from Highlands Ranch, CO
Pet Name: Kona and RugerOur puppies turned 1 on 12-13-10. It was not a national holiday, but a local one. It didn’t make sense to fuss over them too much because they are spoiled rotten daily. We took them to puppy daycare as we do most days this time of year to make sure they are well exercised, socialized and loved, even if we aren’t there. The folks at the daycare joint LOVE Kona and Ruger almost as much as Penny does. When we got there in the evening to pick them up, the staff had taken pictures of the dogs under a Christmas tree and made cards out of them. Then each of the staff and Vets wrote notes about each dog inside. Truly amazing. Granted, they have seen most of the vets there over the year, but they really do care about them. They also put together a Happy Birthday goodie-bag with various rope and ball chew toys, doggie treats etc. They are very cool indeed.
Over the last few weeks, as the holiday season got closer, one of the groomer gals has taken to giving Kona, our beautiful little black lab puppy girl weekly pedicures. She gets her hair done, occasionally comes home with a bow, but always gets her nails clipped, filed and painted. Last week, in addition to the normal painting, she painted individual flowers on her nails. Who’s more patient- Kona or the groomer? We indicated that Ruger, our big strong yellow lab puppy boy would be jealous. So, Heidi took it upon her self to make sure he wasn’t left out. She painted him. One orange ear, one pink ear and a purple tail. Please see attached. Apparently, by the end of the "session" she had more colors on her than he had on him, but turnabout is fair play. Once again, all of this is just part of the service they provide for our pups; no additional charge. -
Emergency Services
-Susie from Highlands Ranch, CO
Pet Name: TweakBrought my son's puppy, Tweak in for emergency services on Tuesday with Dr. Fordham.
Dr. Matt called to find out how he was doing - he's doing very well! Thanks for taking such good care of Tweak (and me), and also helping me carry him into the hospital. Great service, as always.
