VCA Mission Viejo Animal Hospital

Christine Priest, DVM, Medical Director

DVM, Purdue University

Biography

Dr. Priest was born in Orange County and graduated from El Toro High School in 1988. She then went to Cal Poly Pomona for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science. She was accepted to Purdue University Veterinary Medical School and graduated in 1995. She was then asked to join Michigan Veterinary Specialists for an Intensive training in small animal medicine and surgery for 12 months.
After completing her internship, she moved back to Indiana and worked at Northwood Animal Hospital for 4 years, further developing her interests in dermatology, oncology and surgery. She relocated to Sacramento in 2000 to work for Novartis Animal Health as a Professional Service Veterinarian. This was a great experience for her, where she learned the research and development behind animal drugs we use today to prevent disease and save lives! This position allowed her to travel the country training other veterinarians on many of the drugs we use everyday.
Three kids later, she lives in Mission Viejo with her husband of 14 years, to be close to family and friends. She joined VCA Mission Viejo Animal Hospital in 2005 and is now the Medical Director.
