Biography

Dr. Cheryl Wood graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in June 2007 and completed a year-long internship at the Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Los Angeles, CA. During her internship, she cultivated her passion for surgery with board certified surgeons, and discovered an interest in internal medicine while working with critical patients in the ICU. Other rotations of interest included radiology, cardiology, emergency and critical care medicine, and internal medicine. After completing the internship, Dr. Wood was very excited to join the team at VCA Mission Viejo to offer the best quality patient care in both surgery and medicine. She also received additional training in feline and canine dentistry. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, Soufflé and Mousse, doing Yoga, reading, fishing, and spending time at the beach.
