Why I do what I do ....
To be happy in life- you need to find what you love doing and make it your job, I have always loved animals, what better way to spend my time than helping animals. People are at their best when they are with their pets, I know I am… So I decided years ago to make working with animals in any way my full time work. I spend my day covered in fur and loving it! Animals can’t always tell us what’s wrong or where it hurts so they need caring and understanding people to help them. I work with a group of caring people who do their best to understand animal’s everyday. It makes coming to work everyday a very pleasant experience. My job is sometimes sad too... but knowing you’re helping not only loving animals but loving owners help there pets have the best life possible is a good feeling. That’s why “I do what I do”. Animals are the most forgiving, tolerant, non Judgmental beings. They can teach us a lot, and were all here to learn….

Since I was young I have always been fascinated by animals. Now that im older I am lucky enough to have a job that is solely focused on helping animals. I couldn’t imagine myself having any other job. I enjoy coming to work everyday. There is always something new and exciting to look forward to each day. It is also fun to see all the different types of pets that come in to see us. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that I have the opportunity to change the way a pet is feeling. I plan to further my ability to help animals by becoming a veterinarian.

Nikki is one of our loving techs..The reason I come to work everyday is because… there are clients and patients who need me. I love the satisfying feeling when clients come in and know there babies are getting the best care possible. The smile on children’s faces when we can make their best friends cat, dog or hamster goes from being sick to playful and healthy again. Working with clients about home care for their pets to insure the best well being when there not here with us. It’s kind of funny because clients will bring there pets in for something like limping and when they walk through that door their pet seems better and we tell them “they don’t call us Miracle Mile for nothing. So if you would like great care for your pets and friendly staff come on in and see us.

Marilee started at VCA Miracle Mile approximately 6 years ago.VCA Miracle Mile is my second home I came to. I’ve been working here at Miracle Mile for 6 years; it has been 6 years of caring and getting to know our patients and clients. Like our mission statement states “were your pet’s health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal” I work to follow that statement on a daily basis. I have gained so much knowledge through the years and also developed friendship with clients and their pets throughout the years. Since I’ve started here I have good memories and experiences and some sad. I could say working with animals has been the best choice of my life that I have ever made.

My love for animals really started when I started working at my first job as a kennel technician at VCA Miracle Mile Animal Hospital. After graduating high school, I moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida. While attending USF, I continued to work at animal hospitals as a veterinary technician. I recently moved back to Fort Myers to attened Grad school at FGCU and was able to get hired back at VCA Miracle Mile Animal Hospital working as a veterinary technician. 7 months ago I was able to adopt Barley, my 2 year old english bulldog. She is the love of my life!
