Technician SupervisorDebbie Medina
My passion for animals started at a very young age. In 2007 I found my perfect career and have loved every minute of it. My passion has grown and I love to make every patient feel comfortable with us from the scared little kitten to the large aggressive dog. I feel great satisfaction when a pet gains trust in me. I have a 6 year old son that is the light of my life. My fur babies consist of a 12 year old Pit bull named Vega, a domestic short haired cat named Igor that showed up at my door many years ago and never left and now claims Vega’s bed, and a 13 year old Cairn terrier named Toto. I enjoy spending my free time playing video games, reading, and watching movies surrounded by all my babies (fur and human).
Nikki is one of our loving techs..The reason I come to work everyday is because… there are clients and patients who need me. I love the satisfying feeling when clients come in and know there babies are getting the best care possible. The smile on children’s faces when we can make their best friends cat, dog or hamster goes from being sick to playful and healthy again. Working with clients about home care for their pets to insure the best well being when there not here with us. It’s kind of funny because clients will bring there pets in for something like limping and when they walk through that door their pet seems better and we tell them “they don’t call us Miracle Mile for nothing. So if you would like great care for your pets and friendly staff come on in and see us.
Since I was young I have always been fascinated by animals. Now that im older I am lucky enough to have a job that is solely focused on helping animals. I couldn’t imagine myself having any other job. I enjoy coming to work everyday. There is always something new and exciting to look forward to each day. It is also fun to see all the different types of pets that come in to see us. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that I have the opportunity to change the way a pet is feeling. I plan to further my ability to help animals by becoming a veterinarian.
Ever since I was very young I have had a love for all animals. I have been a veterinary technician for 16 years and I love every part of my job. I enjoy building bonds with the clients and educating them with their new puppy on vaccines, and/or preparing them for their pets first surgery whether it is spaying or neutering the pet or a dental that needs to be done. I love watching puppies and kittens come in and being apart of that pets life as he or she grows up. I am able to help the sick get better, the pets that have discomfort get relief and I am able to help the hurt heal. Every day I come to work my office is filled with wagging tails, wet noses, warm hearts and best of all lots of kisses. What's not to love.....
I have always had a love for animals. Since I was a kid I always wanted to be a vet tech. I started out as a Kennel Tech. I loved helping, and taking care of the animals, but I wanted to do more to help. So I started out at an animal hospital from my home town in Chicago. I moved to Florida about a year ago and I couldn’t imagine being in a different field, I love coming to work every day. You never know what’s going to come through the door and who you’ll be able to help. I eventually want to go back to school and become certified.
Veterinary Tech School: Brown Mackie College
From a very young age I knew I wanted to work with animals. When I was little I either wanted to be a dolphin trainer or a veterinary technician. I began shadowing the veterinarians at my hometown animal hospital in fourth grade and eventually began working there post high school. In high school I shadowed dolphin and sea lion trainers at Six Flags. I also participated in a marine biology program in high school and shadowed places such as Island Dolphin Care, The Sea Turtle Hospital, and The Marine Mammal Conservancy. Animals have always held a special place in my heart. I attended Brown Mackie College and earned my Associate of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology and went on to take my boards to become Registered Veterinary Technician. My ultimate goal is to one day become a marine mammal veterinary technician to combine my passion for marine mammals with my passion as a veterinary technician.
Veterinary Tech School: Sanford Brown Institute
Animals have always been a big part of my life. Helping rehabilitate sick or injured animals was just something I did as a young boy. I attended Sanford Brown Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Fl in 2012 where I completed a Veterinary Technical Program. I am very happy and excited to be apart of the wonderful family here at the VCA Miracle Mile Animal Hospital. When not at work I enjoy my days with my two sons Ayden and Anthony. I have a wonderful dog at home, her name is Penny. I rescued Penny from a shelter I worked at previously.
I have been a vet tech for more than 15 years, in both large and small animal practices. My passion is rescue and helping educate owners about their pets. I love my job because it allows me to share my passion with others. My family owns and operates an equine rescue in Maryland where we have 12 horses. We also have 3 dogs, a parrot, a goat, a cow, a ferret, and 24 barn cats on the farm. With me here in Cape Coral, I have 5 rescue dogs that keep me entertained. I love my job because I love animals!
Veterinary Tech School: Vet Tech Institute
I graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Fishers, Indiana 2014. I received my Associates Degree in Animal Science and currently Certified in the state of Florida. I am always willing to learn and that is one reason I believe this profession is perfect for me. I fell in love with being a vet tech when I first attended school, I have a passion for helping animals, as well as their owners, and knowing the disease processes in which each patient is diagnosed. I absolutely love what I do and would not change any part of my career or my life. There is always new knowledge surfacing in the animal medical field and I am so excited to be able to further my knowledge.
My love for animals really started when I started working at my first job as a kennel technician at VCA Miracle Mile Animal Hospital. After graduating high school, I moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida. While attending USF, I continued to work at animal hospitals as a veterinary technician. I recently moved back to Fort Myers to attened Grad school at FGCU and was able to get hired back at VCA Miracle Mile Animal Hospital working as a veterinary technician. 7 months ago I was able to adopt Barley, my 2 year old english bulldog. She is the love of my life!
