VCA Metroplex Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge

Desiree Poore, Associate Veterinarian

Oklahoma State University

Biography

Dr. Desiree Poore originally hails from New Mexico where she grew up rodeoing, showing livestock, and traveling greener pastures. She completed her Wildlife Science degree at New Mexico State, and attended Oklahoma State University to finish her Masters in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

An internship took her to Charlotte, NC after graduation where she enjoyed the rain and beaches for a couple of years before returning home to America’s heartland. She joined Metroplex VCA in June of 2013, and is thrilled to be back in Big 12 range (Go Pokes!). Professionally she enjoys emergency work and believes that it’s rewarding to help our patients when they are at their sickest. Other areas of interest include dentistry, ultrasonography, and surgery.

Her dogs, Beau and Roscoe, run the house and enjoy watching Dukes of Hazard episodes. In her off time, Dr. Poore can be found kayaking in Texas lakes and rivers, attempting to do Crossfit, taking photographs, or helping with church activities.
