Rest In Peace, my dog, Joe

Pet Name: Joe
On Saturday August 21st at 4PM, I rushed my 11 year old ailing dog, Joe, to McClave Animal Hospital, for he was on a quick decline since a seizure he suffered days before. Turns out a likely brain tumor had caused much suffering to my dog in his last days. Dr. Rizzitano was on staff and explained to me our options. It was time for me to let my best friend of 11 years, slip away, with Dr. Rizzitano's help. I couldn't have asked for a more professional, caring, gracious person to assist in ending my sweet Joe's suffering. He died in my arms, with Dr. Rizzitano's soothing words letting me know he was gone. Up until 2 days before, Joe was a happy, able, amazing dog who never left my side, and cared so much for everyone. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I've ever done, and I am still coping with the separation anxiety of not having him here. I just wanted to say thank you to the staff, and especially Dr. Rizzitano for walking me through the whole ordeal with such grace and genuine care for my and Joe's situation.
I love and miss you terribly Joe Joe... Not a moment goes by where I don't ache for my pet to be back in my arms. -
Caring and Gentle

Pet Name: Duke
On Saturday evening, July 17, I returned home to find our sweet dog Duke panting heavily. At first I thought it was because of the extreme heat we had been experiencing; Duke was an outdoor dog and being older and on the heavy side it was hard on him. When trying to cool him down with some water didn't help we called a friend who referred us to McClave. After an overnight stay at McClave and after speaking with Dr Hutchinson we made the difficult decision to let Duke go. The staff was very compassionate and caring; allowing us time alone with our friend before and after the procedure. This was not the first time we've been through this experience but the staff and doctors at McClave made it much easier to bear. Thanks to everyone for your support and kindness - we will never forget it. -
Thank you Dr. Hutchinson

Pet Name: Joe
My beloved 11 year old dog Joe had a seizure at 6AM a couple of months ago, his 1st. I don't know who it was harder on, me or him. In the panic, I was able to bring my dog to see Dr. Hutchinson at 6:30AM not knowing what had just happened to my dog. I thought he was dying in my arms. Dr. Senta Hutchinson was so great with us, and took such gentle care of Joe. She explained that Joe had experienced a seizure as well as all possibilities and treatments. My dog Joe is now on Phenobarbital and has been seizure free for almost a month, thanks to the wonderful staff at McClave Animal Hospital. They are our new Vet from now on for any and all of my pets. They seem to really care about animals, as well as explaining to pet owners everything we need to know about what is going on. Much appreciated. <3 always, Angela and Joe Rinaldo -
Great Vet Hospital with a Good Heart

Pet Name: Roscoe and ScoutI have been taking my pets to McClave for over 20 years. Starting with my first male lab, Ajax, to my last lab, Angel, who passed this last June. Even Dr. Sauer took the time to write me a personal letter regarding a surgical procedure my first lab Ajax had back in 1997. I thought this was very special and truly unheard of. The people at McClave are wonderful and caring. I just adopted two mixed labs from the Chatsworth shelter the end of October, Roscoe and Scout. Took them in this last Sunday for their first visit. Received great care. Thank you McClave for great service and wonderfull support
