Biography

Dr. Janis-Rickard is originally from Chicago, Illinois, where her parents and sister still reside. After graduating from the University of California Davis Veterinary School in 2000, she joined the McClave family. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. She has a special interest in internal medicine and abdominal ultrasound. Outside of work, Dr. Rickard loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and their cat Critter. In her spare time she likes to garden, cook, hike, read science fiction, travel, scuba dive, and snow ski. She is also a certified PADI Divemaster.

VCA McClave Animal Hospital provides 24 hour emergency veterinary care, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Emergency veterinarians, veterinary technicians and/or veterinary assistants are on staff 24 hours a day.
