Biography
Dr. Thurmond, a life long resident of Galveston County, has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2006. Her love of animals and participation in the Houston Livestock Show & The Galveston County Fair & Rodeos provided the direction that would eventually lead her to Texas A&M University; she received a Bachelor of Science in 2001 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.After graduation, she started practicing at Austin & Associates, which became VCA Mainland Animal Hospital in February 2009; Dr. Thurmond was named Medical Director in June 2010. She and her health care team work diligently to provide the local community with quality animal care in a professional environment.
Currently, Dr. Thurmond resides in Santa Fe with her husband Brian; they enjoy spending their time traveling and are avid scuba divers. They share their home with Kylee, a chocolate labrador, and two cats, Lilo and Stitch.
