Cat lovers mark your calendars! The first-ever Internet Cat Video Festival is slated to take place on August 30 at the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Feline enthusiasts are invited to take part in this free outdoor event. The festival will feature the best cat videos from the internet.

"Experience the joy of a surprised kitten or keyboard cat together," stated the Walker Center's self-proclaimed cat-lady-in-residence on its website. "Participate in this experiment that tests the social boundaries of the online community with a live, off-line event as we attempt to gather in physical space and real time to enjoy one of the internet's most popular phenomena."

The videos that will be featured have been nominated by the public and will no doubt feature cats at their most mischievous, sneaky, lazy and humorous.  Perhaps some videos featuring cat behavior problems will also make the cut.

According to VCA Animal Hospitals, cats communicate with each other and people in many fascinating ways. They use vocalizations as well as body language in order to alert us to how they are feeling. While they are amusing to witness in person, they can be even more entertaining when they are caught on camera .

Regardless, individuals who find cats amusing, entertaining or just plain adorable will likely enjoy this inaugural feline video event.
