  • I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else

    -Deanna from Coronado, CA
    Pet Name: Jango

I found Dr. Tugend and Dr Kelly after I saw on TV that Dr. Tugend saved a police dog who had been stabbed. I had a new puppy and was looking for a veterinarian. I reasoned that any doctor who is trusted with the care of police dogs must be pretty darn good. Well, after two years of great experiences, I can tell you that I have not regretted my decision to go "over the bridge". It is a short, short hop over the bridge to highly experienced veterinarians who are honest, up front and judicious in their care of animals. I've never felt pressure to authorize excessive testing or care, I have always felt that my options have been spelled out clearly. I recommend them without reservations :)

  • In Memory of The Friend

    -Mamie from San Diego, CA
    Pet Name: The Friend

Pet Image We used to go to another hospital but the care and love and understanding we received from the staff and doctors at VCA Main at the end of our cat's life was so excellent that we will never go anywhere else again. The staff was so kind and sent us a lovely card too that touched all of us. Our dog is now a patient at VCA Main and we look forward to many years with him and them.

  • In Memory of Yukon

-Peter and Diane from Fallbrook, CA
    Pet Name: Yukon

Pet Image For over 20 years VCA Main Street has been caring for our German Shepherds. The reason is simple: highly skilled doctors like Dr. Tugend and Dr. Kelly, as well as VCA's professional and caring staff. We thank both Dr. Kelly and Dr. Tugend, as well as the entire staff of VCA Main Street, for many years of great care, and look forward to many more.

  • Thank you Dr. Tugend and Staff

-Kristin and Jamie from North Park, CA

Pet Image Dr. Tugend and his staff are wonderful! I cannot express how grateful I am to have found Dr. Tugend and his staff when we did. Our little Bella needed to have surgery done to remove a malignant tumor on the top of her head. Bella had a bit of an enlarged heart and other veterinarians would require a very costly cardiac workup prior to Bella's surgery. After a lengthy discussion and a review of Bella's bloodwork, Dr. Tugend was willing to perform the surgery with the understanding that Bella was at higher risk of complications given her age of 15 and enlarged heart. Bella recovered from surgery like a champ and she loved the "ear lift" she had after the tumor was removed. I was so impressed with Dr. Tugend's patience, knowledge, and willing to listen to our concerns during this stressful time. A year later we had to make yet another difficult decision. Bella's cancer returned and her best friend of 16 yrs - Sontiago (who had severe arthritis) were near end of life. Dr. Tugend consulted with us at length regarding all the options possible for Bella and Sontiago. Jamie and I ultimately decided it was time to let them go peacefully together using an in-home euthanasia Veterinarian. Thanks again to Dr. Tugend and his staff for helping us with our Beloved Bella and Sontiago. We will definitely bring our next pet(s) to VCA on Main Street! :)
