Received Compassion When Needed Most-Jodi M Sandvick from WASHINGTON, DC
Pet Name: Sera and Scout
I recently adopted Sera from a high kill shelter in NYC. Unfortunately unbeknownst to me there were behavioral issues too deep to fix. After an unprovoked attack on my other dog Scout, I was able to bring both dogs in to receive the best care. The entire staff treated me with such kindness knowing it was time for Sera to cross the bridge due to her issues. No one made judgment and everyone felt the loss as much as me. Scout was stitched up with the best stitches I've seen in some time. The entire experience as difficult as it was emotionally was made easier with the care and compassion shown to me by everyone at the hospital. I will forever be grateful.
My Beautiful Boy-Elizabeth Walton from Washington, DC
Pet Name: Lorenzo
Please share my deepest gratitude with everyone at VCA MacArthur for everything you did for Lorenzo.
By allowing me to share my whacky stories, you made what would have been a very sad visit into one that made me smile a bit more.
I have attached a photo of my beautiful boy on one of his many thrones when he was a bit younger and not so sick.
Much love and sincere appreciation,
Thank You-Elizabeth Walton from Washington, DC

VCA Saved Trixie's Life-Kathryn Rodgers-Lang from Washington, DC
Pet Name: Trixie and Sassy
I have had the pleasure of experiencing the services of VCA/MacArthur for the past 2 years. I have a 4-year old Cockapoo and a 2-year old teacup Schnauzer. In recent weeks, my Schnauzer, Trixie, became sick on a weekend. I arrived at VCA at 7:30 AM Monday with my little girl. I was scared to death, since she had taken a turn for the worse during the nite before. In walks Dr. Shillito, having arrived from a medical seminar in California the day before....where one of the topics was, "Pancreatitis in Schnauzers". As it turned out...it's exactly what Trixie's ailment was! OK...the seminar was wonderfully coincidental in this case...I was incredibly fortunate...but Dr. Shillito's quick, calm action, methodical diagnosis (several possible causes had to be ruled-out), the generous time spent with me and little Trixie, and the compassionate caring has made me a loyal patron. Trixie was at death's door, and she's had a full recovery! Dr. Shillito suggested a dietary regime, tailor-made for Trixie. I'm grateful and relieved that he had the nutritional knowledge, since this is critical for a dog with Trixie's condition. I cannot say enough about the entire staff. They kept a watchful eye on Trixie and their concern was so appreciated. My girls have also been treated by Dr. Morris, the senior member of the team...also a delightful, caring, extremely talented doctor. Dr. Hassell, yet another member of the staff, is also very talented and thorough. All 3 doctors...and the support staff... make the pet-owner feel that they are in very good hands. My sincere thanks to them all!
Caring, Interested Veteranians-Kate from Washington, DC
Pet Name: Raj
As a 35-year client of VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital I have seen staff change a number of times. I have visited them with many pets and even called for assistance with a very sick dog from India. They have always been more than helpful. Each of the current veterinarians, Drs. Morris, Hassel and Shilleto are caring, interested and committed to each pet and client they see. This shows in the time they devote to there four legged clients. It is the vet clinic to go to in Washington, DC.
