VCA Lockwood Ridge Animal Hospital

Tamara Powell, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Georgia

We are thrilled that Dr. Powell joined our practice in June 2010. She was born in San Diego, CA and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Powell attended the University of South Carolina for 3 years of her undergraduate study, and then spent her fourth year at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. Her undergraduate studies at both scholls were a major in Biology.
She graduated in 2005 and then went to The University of Georgia and graduated in 2010, where she obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She is very interested in many areas of veterinary medicine. Her professional interests are in exotics, neurology, dentistry, and holistic medicine.
Dr. Powell also has many interests outside of veterinary medicine. She keeps very active by traveling, reading, drawing, sewing, and running, just to name a few. When she is not busy with her hobbies, Dr. Powell enjoys spending time at home with her adorable Ragdoll mix kitty, named Sadie.
