Biography
Dr. Parkin has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2005. She received her BA in economics from the University of Washington in Seattle and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Dr. Parkin is the President and co-founder of ViDAS, a non-profit organization dedicated to animal health through humane control of pet overpopulation in Mexico. ViDAS provides education and safe pet sterilization clinics in impoverished areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. Ruth's professional interests include soft tissue and reconstructive surgery, oncology and volunteer charity projects focusing on pet overpopulation control. Dr. Parkin lives in Denver with her two crazy dogs: Monkey, a 3-legged Rat Terrier mix and Pear, a rescued Bull Terrier. In her free time, she enjoys attending Rockies games, playing volleyball, walking the dogs in the park and traveling both near and far.
