One Clients Rescue Story

Audrey Hepburn Porter’s Rescue Story
In May 2005, I found an apartment stray cat, a sweet and skinny young adult. We locked eyes; she came to me and lay down, exhausted and hot, at my feet. It was love at first sight for both of us! A resident named Audrey provided a haven on her patio for strays, and so I called this kitty Audrey, too. I added "Hepburn," after the actress, to add a touch of class.
This pretty kitty was in heat, and many tomcats were hanging around. I scooped her up and took her to my vet who told me that at 5.6 pounds, Audrey Hepburn was malnourished. She also had two different-colored eyes, which at the time, we thought was neat.
Fast forward to 2011. Due to Audrey’s time as a stray, she just recently lost her left eye and has inflammatory bowel disease. We administer three medications to her daily. She has a huge appetite and weighs almost 13 pounds!
What makes this rescue extra-special is her name. I found out a few days after bringing her home that the actress Audrey Hepburn’s birthday was May 4th. That was the day that May that I met my Audrey Hepburn.
