Virginia Walters, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Georgia

Dr. Walters is originally from Dallas, Texas and grew up in the Atlanta area. She attended the University of Georgia where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology in 2004. During college, Dr. Walters worked as a technician in a small animal emergency clinic, while also working with beef cattle in an extensive breeding program. She loved UGA so much that she attended veterinary school at the university and graduated magna cum laude in 2008. Dr. Walters enjoys working with all species and currently practices small animal medicine and exotics (small mammals). Her interests include preventative care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, clinical pathology and behavior. Her favorite aspect of working for VCA Legion Road Animal Hospital is the relationships with clients and their pets, watching the human-animal bond develop and being a part of maintaining this amazing gift. She feels fortunate to be a part of a strong veterinary team that strives to provide the very best care for our clients and their furry family members. In her free time, Dr.Walters enjoys participating in career days at a local elementary school, running and spending time with her family. She lives in Durham with her husband, her daughter, her dog (Miles) and two cats (Bing and Louie).
