    Laressa L
    Veterinary Tech School: Parkland College
School: UC Santa Cruz Extension, A.A.S.

Laressa's affinity and love for animals was apparent from her early childhood days while growing up on the islands of Guam and Hawaii. She has been a proponent of the Veterinary Technology profession since graduating from the Parkland College Veterinary Technology program in Urbana, Illinois in 1997. She has served on the CVMA RVT Committee and managed Vet Tech Internship programs throughout her 14 years in companion animal and lab animal medicine. Her passions include ensuring the humane treatment of animals, promoting continuing education, and advocating proper training and hands-on techniques. She returned to the VCA family in 2014 after dedicating time towards pursuing lab animal medicine and caring for her 3 young children as a stay-at-home mom. Outside of the animal hospital, she has fun with her rambunctious and hilarious kids, volunteering at their nearby elementary school, and playing with her huggable Mittens, the grey kitty who rounds out her loving family.
