VCA Lakes Region Veterinary Hospital

Heather Manning, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Dr. Heather Manning is a native of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, having been born and raised in beautiful Laconia. She participated in the honors program and completed a senior thesis at the University of New Hampshire, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences (Pre-Veterinary Medicine) in 2000. Next, it was on to veterinary school at the University of Illinois; she completed her doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 2004. After 4 years as Midwesterner, it was time to return to New England. Being a self-proclaimed "cat person," Dr. Manning knew that she wanted to work with household pets, especially our favorite companions: dogs and cats. She especially enjoys observing the relationships between people and their pets, and helping to foster the human-animal bond. Heather was initially employed at a veterinary practice in Concord, New Hampshire, but jumped at the chance to return to the Lakes Region. She has been working at Lakes Region Veterinary Hospital since October 2006. Dr. Manning shares her home with her three kitties Dusty, Callie and Pooka, and English Pointer mix, Moxie. When not working, Heather enjoys reading, gardening, downhill skiing, swimming, and boating – on Lake Winnipesaukee, of course!
