Biography
When asked why he became a veterinarian Dr. Stowe answers, "I spent a great deal of time during my childhood helping at my cousin’s dairy farm where I realized my love for animals. During my high school years I worked for a veterinarian in my home town. I never really considered any other career."Dr. Stowe is a U.S. Air Force veteran having served stateside and overseas assignments. He served in the active Coast Guard Reserves while attending college. Dr. David Stowe was elected to Alpha Zeta Honor Society while attending University of Maine where he graduated with Distinction, with a degree in Biology. Dr. David then received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Outside interests include maintaining and managing Stonybrook Farm, their family apple and blueberry farm in Gilford, sculling on Lake Winnipesaukee, and spending time with family.
Dr. David Stowe is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Hampshire Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Animal Hospital Association, Masters Rowing Association, The Winnipesaukee Rowing Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
